I write in connection with your request for information dated 10^th September 2009, which was received by Nottinghamshire Police on 11th September 2009, and acknowledged by e-mail on 11^th September 2009. I note you seek access to the following information:-

1. How many road traffic accidents have occurred in the last five

(financial) years on Mansfield Road between Edingley and Halam,

Nottinghamshire?

2. Of those accidents how many casualties have there been and how

many fatalities?

Following receipt of your request searches were conducted within Nottinghamshire Police to locate information relevant to your request.

Under S 1 (1) (a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), I can confirm that Nottinghamshire Police does hold the information you have requested.

1. How many road traffic accidents have occurred in the last five

(financial) years on Mansfield Road between Edingley and Halam,

Nottinghamshire?

Please note: Nottinghamshire Police only holds details of injury accidents that have been reported to and recorded by the police.

Nottinghamshire Police has recorded that there has been nine reported injury accidents between Station Road (Edingley) and School Lane (Halam) excluding those junctions in the period 1/1/04 to 31/5/09.  

2. Of those accidents how many casualties have there been and how

many fatalities?

Of the nine recorded traffic accidents, there were:

10 casualties

And

1 fatality.
