An amendment to the current Enforcement Guidelines regarding London 
Taxis and PHV’s on the TLRN 
 
 
 
Taxis and Private Hire Vehicles stopping at ATMs 
 
 
With immediate effect, Traffic Enforcement will be conducting a trial of new 
arrangements whereby London Taxi and London Private Hire Vehicles can 
stop and wait for a passenger to use a cashpoint. 
 
•  The concession only applies between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 
•  A period of 5 minutes concession will be allowed to determine if the 
activity has taken place. 
•  This does not apply to pedestrian clearways, Zig-Zags, Bus Cages with 
Wide Red Lines or where a vehicle is seen to be causing an 
obstruction or safety hazard. 
•  PHV’s must display both the current TfL Roundel and License stickers 
 
                           
                    
 
 
 
 
 
Please note: 
 
This is being introduced primarily to address passenger concerns around late 
night safety when they need to withdraw cash to pay drivers. 
 
TfL are working with the taxi industry to encourage the use of credit and debit 
card machines in taxis.
