Dear Mr Watson,

Re: Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 – Request for Information

Thank you for your email which was received by the University on 30 September 2009 timed
12:27 hours requesting a Review of our actions, as detailed below.

I am writing to request an internal review of University of Glasgow's handling of my FOI
request 'Cost of due diligence for the Student System'.

I asked you: “Who authorised the expenditure?”

You replied : “Expenditure was part of the Senior Management Group (SMG) approved
budget for the project.”

However, there is no mention of the due diligence cost in Appendix C (Phase 1 -
Estimated Costs) of "Review of Student Administrative Processes" that was submitted
to the Senior Management Group - Tuesday 26 June 2007. Could you please examine
your facts again?

I also asked you: “Was this level of expenditure (i.e. £293,982) planned prior to the due
diligence phase?”

You replied: “The Project Board agreed that appropriate due diligence work should be
completed prior to contract signing. The work was undertaken on a “time and
materials” basis and not as a “fixed price” contract.”

Again you have not answered my question. The question requires a yes or no answer.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at
