Dear Blue,

Freedom of Information Act 2000: Request for information

Thank you for your request for information that was logged on 26 August 2009, relating to FOI request 4288. You have requested the following information:

Removal of Public Notices from Parking Bays by alleged vandals:

  1. Please can you provide the date when Councillor Chalkley reported the vandalism of these Public Notices to the Police along with the relevant crime reference number?

  1. Is there an investigation still ongoing into the missing public notices?

  1. If the matter has been concluded with the Police, please sent me copies of any letter the Police have sent to Councillor Chalkley as a result of concluding their investigation.

In response to your request I can advise you of the following:

  1. Westminster City Council (WCC) has not reported any incidence of vandalism or the removal of Public Notices to the Police.

It was advised by Councillor Chalkley, in his letter to you dated 24 November 2008, that any Public Notice found to be either missing or vandalised would be replaced. Other than the replacement of Public Notices, WCC took no further action.

  1. WCC is not currently conducting an investigation into the removal of these Public Notices.

  1. I can confirm that the Police have not been contacted by the City Council with regards to any vandalised or missing Public Notices.

If you are not satisfied with this response please set out your reasons in writing and send to:
