Dear Mr Martin,

UK Chair
In your email of 21st August 2009, you requested information,
Sir Clive Booth
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘FOIA’), regarding two

grants awarded to Thornbury FM under the Awards for All
UK Chief Executive
Peter Wanless CB
programme.

We are committed to bringing real
You requested the application forms and end of grant reports for
improvements to communities and
the following grants:
to the lives of people most in need

−  £4,326 awarded on 06/10/2005; and
−  £5,674 awarded on 23/01/2007.

The files for the above grants are held offsite with a third party
storage provider. We are sorry to inform you that we have been
unable to locate the file for the grant awarded in 2005. We will,
therefore, be unable to provide you with the application form and
end of grant report in relation to the 2005 grant. We realise that
this may be disappointing for you, but it is likely that we hold other
records about the group on our grant-making database, covering
the assessment and grant monitoring. If you would like to request
these records then please contact me directly.

We have retrieved information for the grant awarded in 2007. The
application form and end of grant report for the 2007 grant are
attached. No FOIA exemptions have been applied. Personal
details such as home addresses and dates of birth have been
concealed, as we did not consider these relevant to your request.

Had they been specifically requested it is likely they would be
exempt under section 40 of the FoIA relating to Data Protection.

You also requested guidance notes for the application and end of
grant reporting processes. These are attached with no FOIA
exemptions having been applied.

If you have any further queries regarding the FOIA please contact
myself at the address below. Your reference is: E/165/2108/4. It
would be helpful if you could quote this reference in any future
correspondence.

If you are unhappy with the level of service you have received in
relation to your request, you may ask for an internal review.  If this
is the case, contact me and I will arrange for the decision to be
reviewed.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you
have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for
a decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:
