Freedom of Information Request - Local Authority Property Search Services: Charges for Property Search Regulations

Thank you for your email of 13 August 2009, and your further clarification email of 14 September 2009, in which you requested a list of all electronic communication between the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) regarding the Charges for Property Search Regulations from 1 January 2009 to the date of your request. These regulations, the Local Authorities (England) (Charges for Property Searches) Regulations SI 2008/3248, were made on 23 December 2008.

I apologise for the delay in replying to your request, which was due to the need to coordinate with colleagues at DCLG to ensure a full response.

In line with your clarification, I can confirm that the department holds the information requested which has been handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

There is no further correspondence on the subject matter between January 2009 and the date of your request.

As part of our obligations under the Freedom of Information Act, the Ministry of Justice has an independent review process. If you are dissatisfied with this decision, you may write to request an internal review. The internal review will be carried out by someone who did not make the original decision, and they will re-assess how the Department handled the original request. If the original decision was erroneous, a new decision can be substituted in its place.
