Thank you for your recent FOI request received 8 August 2009, concerning statutory 
notices regarding highways.  
 
Specifically you requested the amount spent by the council in the financial year 2008/9 
on placing statutory notices relating to highways a) in newspapers and b) elsewhere.  
 
Also a breakdown both by publication and type of notice (the latter only if the council 
classifies them in some way). 
 
The total expenditure in respect of Public Notices processed by me for the financial year 
2008/09 was £130,161.66 of which £95,632.50 relates to Highways & Access 
budget holders

 
Please note that the figures listed below include both payments made during 2008/09 
and reserved creditors in respect of Public Notices. 
 
Unfortunately we are not able to break this amount down into how much has been spent 
on each publication as this would mean looking at each of the 400 notices placed during 
the year on an individual basis.
