For officers and staff who are required to drive Police Fleet Vehicles or those on hire to Merseyside Police, there is a standard course for Police Officers.

Police Staff undergo a Basic Driver Assessment via the Force Driver Training School.

There are no assessments for Police Staff or Police Officers who only drive their own vehicles.

8) How many employees (police officers/staff) rely on this lowest form of assessment to drive at work?

Exempt - Section 12

The authorisation of casual car use is provided by local command units, to provide a figure would involve a manual inspection of records, which would exceed the cost and time limits set by the Act.
