For officers and staff who are required to drive Police Fleet Vehicles or those on hire to Merseyside Police, there is a standard course for Police Officers. Police Staff undergo a Basic Driver Assessment via the Force Driver Training School.
There are no assessments for Police Staff or Police Officers who only drive their own vehicles.

Exempt - Section 12 The authorisation of casual car use is provided by local command units, to provide a figure would involve a manual inspection of records, which would exceed the cost and time limits set by the Act.
