Dear Mr Black, 
 
Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the Act”) received on 6 August 
2008 seeking the following information: 
  
‘Please could you tell me how many people are currently employed at World Service News and Current 
Affairs and how they are distributed through the salary bands? (ie How many people in WSNCA are 
employed in band 7, how many in band 8 etc, etc.) 

  
How does this compare with the situation in 2003 and in 2006?’ 
 
Please find below headcount information for WSNCA as at 31 July 2008, together with information for 
2003 and 2006.  In order to prevent individuals being identified, we have grouped together some of the 
bands.
