Dear Mr Leach
Re: Your request for information: 188485
Thank you for your request for information that was received on 23
November 2011 in which you requested:
I am requesting the release to me all of the documentation pertaining to
the disposal of this site 161-179 Manor Place SE17 3BS & 6 Stopford Rd
SE17 3BP by the London Borough of Southwark up to and including the
current date Tuesday 22nd November 2011.
In response to your request, I am able to provide the following
information
On 17 May 2011 cabinet approved the precise terms upon which to acquire
the last remaining third party legal interests located at 161 Manor Place.
The cabinet also approved to dispose of the wider council owned site when
full vacant possession had been achieved. This also includes the council
office located at 6 Stopford Road, SE17. The cabinet papers and the
subsequent decision are able to be viewed online at:
[1]http://moderngov.southwarksites.com/ieLi...
It is item number 12 on the agenda.
Following the decision the legal interests were acquired and completed at
the end of July 2011. The flat at 161a has since become squatted and the
council will be taking action to secure possession by way of application
to Lambeth County Court.
The offices at Stopford Road currently remain occupied by the council's
housing renewal team. The council is mid way through a major
reorganisation of its operational estate and the service currently located
at Stopford Road is due to be moved to a new location by September 2012.
Options for the move are being actively explored along with a number of
related moves of other council services but at this time a new location
for the service has yet to be finalised.
Some work was undertaken by colleagues in the planning policy team during
May 2011 to set out the broad planning policy context of the subject site.

The council has appointed Drivers Jonas Deloitte as their agents to market
for sale the subject site and it is now planned to commence the marketing
of the subject site at the end of January 2012. On the basis of this a
report to Cabinet with appropriate recommendations will be scheduled for
the meeting in May 2012.
