RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT REQUEST

Thank you for your email dated 4th August 2009.

I have reviewed your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and my response is as follows:

All applications received since 1990 are available to view on the Council's website. The link is given below. Consequently by searching on the Council's website you will be able to view all applications received in the last 5 years, read their descriptions and establish how many applications are for change of use from A1 to A3 in the last 5 years. The description also normally indicates if the application is retrospective.

However, I can advise that officers are not aware that any applications have been received for a Starbucks in Rossendale and therefore believe the answer to questions 3 and 4 are likely to be zero having regard to the local knowledge of officers working in the Council.

Right to Review

If you wish to have this decision reviewed please write to the Executive Director - Business outlining the points of your review.

If you are still not satisfied with the Council's decision following any review you may appeal the Council's decision to the Information Commissioners Officer, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire. SK9 5AF.
