On behalf of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) I am responding to your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, received August 3rd 2009 (see Annex A).
Please note: the shared services centre supplier of this information (SSC Ltd) has only recently taken on the responsibility for the collation of such procurement data for NERC and processes for doing so are still in development. While every effort has been made by NERC to ensure the relevance and accuracy of the information provided, some of it may not be as comprehensive as the supplier would wish.
Answering your questions in order:
Your total spend on inkjet cartridges during the previous fiscal year.
Your total spend on laser toner cartridges during the previous fiscal year.
The separate figures for the procurement of inkjet and laser cartridges are not available: the aggregated IT consumables spend 07/08, which includes printing consumables is £42,000.
Your top 3 suppliers of inkjet cartridges and their % share of your total inkjet cartridge spend for the previous fiscal year.
Your top 3 suppliers of laser toner cartridges and their % share of your total laser toner cartridge spend for the previous fiscal year.
The figures for inkjet and laser cartridge suppliers are not available: however, the top 3 aggregated IT consumable suppliers are: Galtec Solutions Ltd; Orion Media Marketing Ltd; Inmac (UK) Ltd
The percentage of inkjet cartridges (in value and/or quantity) procured during the previous fiscal year that were “re-filled” or “re-conditioned” as opposed to brand new.
We have no information regarding re-filled or re-conditioned cartridges.
The percentage of laser toner cartridges (in value and/or quantity) procured during the previous fiscal year that were “re-filled” or “re-conditioned” as opposed to brand new.
We have no information regarding re-filled or re-conditioned toners.
Any procurement guidelines and/or contracts pertaining to the purchase of printing consumables.
This information is currently not held, however it is an area that is currently under consideration by SSC Ltd.
Any documentation addressing the procurement of “re-conditioned” or “re-filled” printing consumables.
We have no documentation regarding re-filled or re-conditioned printing consumables.
