Dear Mr Watson

Freedom of Information request: 08/0581 and 08/0497

Thank you for your email message of 29 August to Patrick Balchin clarifying the original request for information of 5 August.

Your original request was “Can i please have any documents or related material regarding any meetings that have been conducted between the government and uk isp's in regard to advertising technologys and what the outcome and advice of such meetings were to each isp

involved.”

In reply, I can now confirm that following a search of the records, no meetings have been conducted between this Department and the specified UK Internet Service Providers, Virgin Media, TalkTalk, and BT about behavioural targeted advertising technologies within the timescale you have specified, namely 1 January 2007 to the present. Therefore we hold no documents or related material within the scope of your request for information.

In answering your request for information, you will appreciate that this Department can respond only in connection with its own records.

Yours sincerely

Mary Spoor
