FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 3885/09
I write in connection with your request for information dated 03rd August 2009 received by Greater Manchester Police. I note you seek access to the following information:-
During the period 01 January 2008 to 01 January 2009:
1. How many Police Constables were employed by your force?
2. How many of these were transfers?
3. How many officers were promoted to higher ranks during the above
period?
4. How many current vacancies are there within the force, and what
are these vacancies?
5. How many officers classify themself as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or
Transgender (LGBT)?
6. What is the current management structure of the force?
I regret to inform you that Greater Manchester Police have not been able to complete its response to your request by the date originally stated.
I now advise you that the amended date for a response is 15th September 2009, if not sooner. However, I can assure you that every effort will be made to ensure an appropriate response will be made within this new timescale.
Your attention is drawn to the attached sheet, which details your right of complaint.

COMPLAINT RIGHTS
Are you unhappy with how your request has been handled or do you think the decision is incorrect?
You have the right to require Greater Manchester Police to review their decision.
Prior to lodging a formal complaint you are welcome and encouraged to discuss the decision with the case officer that dealt with your request.
Ask to have the decision looked at again -
The quickest and easiest way to have the decision looked at again is to telephone the case officer that is nominated at the end of your decision letter.
That person will be able to discuss the decision, explain any issues and assist with any problems.
