Re: Freedom of Information request: Planning Applications featuring Change of Use

1. Thank you for your email received on 28th July 2009 concerning the above. Please find set out below my response to the items raised in your email.

2. I note that your email is a request pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act and in the circumstances I can advise you as follows:

(a) The Council has a duty to confirm or deny that it holds recorded information that an applicant seeks from it and a duty to supply the information requested, subject to any exemption that may apply.

(b) However, under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 the right of access is to the information and not the document.

  1. Item 1 - Under Section 21 of the Act your request is exempt FOI, being information already reasonably accessible to the applicant by other means. Procedures are currently in place to deal with this type of request for information. Public planning registers are held at our Worksop office, and can be made available for viewing. Alternatively all planning records from January 2001 (excluding withdrawn applications) are available on our website at http://www.bassetlaw.gov.uk/services/planning__building/planning_on-line.aspx.

By using the More Search Options tab you can enter in a proposal ie Change of use and use the reception date tabs and other options to narrow down your search. Some applications will also have planning documents available to view. If you require any assistance using the website please contact Planning Services on 01909 533188.

  1. Item 3 - No applications received from Starbucks or their representatives.
