Dear Mr Carlisle
INFORMATION REQUEST
Your request for information has now been considered and it is not possible to meet your
request.
With regards to the 2009 Ashfield Show, and in particular the ticketed event of Saturday 8th August, myself
and several acquaintances would like to know the costs of the following:
Q1 - Sum paid to Sugababes for their appearance.
Q2 - Sum paid to other artistes for their appearance.
Q3 - Sum paid for cost of fencing the Show perimeter.
Q4 - Cost of policing for the Show, in particular Saturday.
Q5 - Cost of any additional stewards.
Q6 - Sum paid to Seetickets for administering the ticketed event.
Q7 - Number of complimentary tickets given to council members, employees and their family/friends.
Q8 - Number of complimentary tickets given to sponsors, in particular the Chad
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 this letter acts as a Public Interest
Refusal Notice.
It is considered that the public interest in withholding the information outweighs the public
interest in disclosing it.
The exemption applied is Section 22 - Information intended for future publication.
This exemption applies because the Deputy Leader (Cllr. John Wilmott) at a Council
Meeting on the 30th July gave verbal assurance to all Members that the true costs of the
Ashfield Show will be made public in due course.
The reasons why the public interest favours withholding the information are:
P.G. MARSHALL – Interim Chief Executive
J.R. CHRISTOPHER, Deputy Chief Executive (Inward Focus)
- a commitment to release true costs has already been provided.
- the information in all cases has not yet been collated/checked.
- to release part information may misinform the requestor.
- release of part information at this time we consider would undermine the Councils
assurance of release.
We anticipate that this information will have been collated and will be in the public domain
by Oct 2009.
I apologise that your request will not be met but if you have any further information needs
in the future then please contact me.
You have the right of appeal against the decision. If you wish to appeal please set out in
writing your grounds of appeal and send to
