Dear Mr Rydell 
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request dated 27 July 2009 regarding 
whether the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has any contracts with Northgate 
Information Solutions. Under Section 1 (1) (a) of the Freedom of Information Act, I 
can confirm that the Health Protection Agency (HPA) does hold the information you 
have requested. 
 
I can confirm that the HPA does not have any contracts with Northgate or Northgate 
Arinso held in its own name.  However, NIBSC which became part of the HPA on 1 
April 2009, has a residual contract for payroll services with Northgate Arinso, signed 
in around 1999. The contract had an annual value in the financial year 2008/09 of 
some £14,000, but will now lapse as NIBSC staff have transferred to the HPA's 
payroll provider from 1 April 2009.
