Dear Mr. Watson,

SUBJECT: Freedom of Information Request

Thank you for your email on of 27th July 2009 in which you asked for the following information from the Ministry of Justice (MoJ):

`Please supply me with copies of any information, advice, and guidance or instructions sent by the Ministry to judges or any other personnel employed by HM Courts Service regarding their children's inclusion on the Contactpoint children's database.

Please note that I require copies of any guidance you have distributed, but am not seeking any information whatsoever about the recipients of this guidance, or their children.

Please include copies of material which you hold in the form of paper and electronic records including email.'

I have conducted a thorough search of our paper and electronic records and unfortunately the information you have requested is not held by the MoJ.

The Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and Local Authorities are responsible for issuing guidance about `Contactpoint.' You may wish to direct your request to the DCSF as they may hold some of the information you are seeking. You can contact the DCSF at the following website: http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/ or email them directly on [email address].

I am sorry that on this occasion I have not been able to be of more assistance.

As part of our obligations under the FOIA, the MoJ has an independent review process. If you are dissatisfied with this decision, you may write to request an internal review. The internal review will be carried out by someone who did not make the original decision, and they will re-assess how the Department handled the original request.

If you wish to request an internal review, please write or send an email to the Data Access and Compliance Unit within two months of the date of this letter, at the following address:
