Dear Mr Phillips,

Request for Information: Eviction from Service Family Accommodation

Thank you for your enquiry dated 26 July 2009. This was passed to Defence Estates
(DE), the Ministry of Defence (MOD) organisation responsible for managing the defence
estate and has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000.
As has been explained on several occasions in recent weeks, I am unable to comment or
supply any information about any specific case for privacy and data protection reasons.
However I can confirm that the MOD does not at present have any plans to dispose of the
property in question.

Incidentally you mention sales of properties to Annington Homes Ltd (AHL). I assume that
you are aware that the majority of Service Family Accommodation properties in England
and Wales were sold to AHL as long ago as 1996. Properties which are surplus to
defence requirements are returned to AHL as the owner. However as I have said there is
currently no intention to do this with the property you mention.

If you are not satisfied with this response or you wish to complain about any aspect of the
handling of your request, then you should contact me in the first instance. If informal
resolution is not possible and you are still dissatisfied then you may apply for an
independent internal review by contacting the Head of Corporate Information, 6th Floor,
MOD Main Building, Whitehall, SW1A 2HB (e-mail [email address]). Please note
that any request for an internal review must be made within 40 working days of the date
on which the attempt to reach informal resolution has come to an end.

If you remain dissatisfied following an internal review, you may take your complaint to the
Information Commissioner under the provisions of Section 50 of the Freedom of
Information Act. Please note that the Information Commissioner will not investigate your
case until the MOD internal review process has been completed. Further details of the
role and powers of the Information Commissioner can be found on the Commissioner's
website, www.ico.gov.uk.

 Yours sincerely
