I am writing further to your requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 dated 24th 
July 2009 and 21st August 2009, for information from NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) 
regarding blood donations.    
 
We do not use any donated whole blood for the manufacture of blood products. All blood 
products for sale overseas are manufactured using plasma sourced from the United States.
