Dear Mr Zekki
Re: Request for Internal Review - Request 4117
Thank you for your dated the 8th September 2009 regarding your recent request to the Council (our ref: 4117).
In your you asked for an internal review of the handling of your Request. I have summarised the details of your appeal below:
You had not received a response.
I am sorry that you are dissatisfied with our handling of your requests and I have investigated your complaints under Stage 1 of the Council's Corporate Complaints Procedure. Further details of our procedure can be found on our website: http://www.westminster.gov.uk/services/councilgovernmentanddemocracy/councils/contactsconsultationandfeedback/complaints-and-compliments/complaints/
Response
You submitted your original request on the 22nd July 2009. This was logged and allocated the reference 4117. You then submitted a request for an internal review on the 8th September 2009.
I apologise for the lack of response to your original request. This was due to the fact that the request was assigned to a staff member who had left the Council. This only came to light following your email on the 8th September, whereupon the request was reassigned to another member of staff who anticipates being in a position to respond to the request by the 25th September, and who will contact you if they are unable to achieve this deadline.
The delay in providing a response to your original request is unacceptable and your complaint is, therefore, upheld.
As a result of your complaint, we are undertaking a review of our network of Departmental Records Officers to ensure that our records are up to date, and that this situation does not happen again.
This completes the internal review into the handling of your Request under the Council's complaints procedure. Should you be dissatisfied with our response, you are entitled to contact the Information Commissioner under Section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act. For your reference, I have provided his contact details below:
