Dear Mr Manderson,

Your request for information of 19 July 2009 is being processed under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I am now in a position to be able to provide you with a substantive reply to your request. You asked:

What percentage of soldiers in the British Army are (i) Church of Scotland (ii) Church of England (ii) Roman Catholic (iv) Other Christain (v) Non-Christian?

I attach a table which shows the religion of trained Regular soldiers as at 1st April 2009.
