What is 20:20?
20:20 is a one-week investment that can pay dividends for years as the future comes into focus.
Participants of 20:20 assess, from the insights and information that they have gained, the key forces that will shape the future - and in the process, glimpse the political, social and economic landscape of the UK in the next 15 to 20 years.
In 2008 the programme will be run twice, from 16 - 20 June and the 3 - 7 November. The base for the 5 day residential programme is Ponsbourne Park in Hertfordshire, and the week
a day spent in London, and a day and a night in Brussels.
Is it for me?
20:20 is for decision-makers from all sectors who have a strong track record of leadership in their particular field, organisation or community and who hold a regional, national or international brief.
The programme is particularly useful for leaders who need to make the transition from local to national decision-making.
All of Common Purpose's leadership programmes are deliberately cross-sector and 20:20 is no exception. Participants are drawn from organisations, cities and communities across the UK.
What issues are explored?
20:20 has two central themes - wealth creation and governance. These are explored using speakers, case studies, debate and team-based tasks. The programme is demanding and highly participatory.
How can it benefit me and my organisation?
Participants have the opportunity to:
Evaluate their strategies in the European and global context
Develop their understanding of the workings of government, whether in Westminster, Edinburgh, Belfast or Brussels, so equipping them to work with and influence the decision-making process more effectively
Expand their horizons and develop their strategic thinking by honing their understanding of international trends
Generate new ideas that will take their organisations and communities forward
Learn about the importance and practical implications of managing diversity in the light of demographic changes and increasing globalisation
Stand back from the day-to-day and consider the long term thus reducing the risk of getting derailed by the unexpected.
