2. What are the top 10 highest grants awarded excluding capital grants?
£22,081.00 – Summer Challenges
To provide summer activities for 320 disadvantaged young people to access
summer activities including sports, music, art, drama etc.
£16,500.00 – Blurb Magazine
To produce and print a magazine for young people to be distributed to all High
Schools etc. throughout Norfolk to reach every young person between 12 yrs
and 18 yrs. The magazine included information on positive activities and
things to do, places to go.
£12,574.00 – Take Flight
Holiday activities for 70 plus young people in Norwich to experience new fun,
educational and sporting activities in relation to the Every Child Matters
Outcomes, particularly stay safe, be healthy.
£12,392.00 - Youth Group
Set up youth club to provide a safe place for young people in Swaffham to
meet on a regular basis, providing facilities and activities for 13 to 19 year
olds.
£11,000 – NR5 Music Project
Towards setting up a music and media project for young people in partnership
with other agencies in Great Yarmouth, Norwich and King’s Lynn.
£10,000 – Smart Kids
Voluntary organisation in Great Yarmouth working with young people with
autism to provide educational, social and sporting activities in a friendly but
stimulating, safe environment.
£7,500.00 – Holt Health Hut Youth Project
Help with running costs of youth project with the emphasis on health to enable
the project to grow and create a more modern and fun-filled youth centre
keeping the young people in the area safe and entertained.

£6,960.00 – Wayland Youth Council
To provide training to young people of the Youth Council to set up a show on
a community radio station for young people to receive support, resources and
advice on a wide range of teenager-related problems.
£6,690.00 – Norfolk International Projects
Towards a cultural exchange to Georgia for disadvantaged young people in
Norfolk to learn about culture and sport. Young people planned the workshop
sessions as part of the programme.
£6,449.89 – Holt Youth Project
To provide a programme of mountain biking, map reading and orienteering for
young people living in a rural area. This also enables them to learn about the
history of Norfolk in planning their routes.

17 young people applied twice for funding and were successful, out of a total
of 483 successful bids.
5. How many young people with physical disabilities have benefited
from grants?
64 young people with physical disabilities benefited from grants.
6. How many successful applications have been made by young people
related to Norfolk County Council employees?
This information is not held. Any young person between 13 and 19 years of
age living in Norfolk can apply. Whether an applicant is related to a Council
employee is irrelevant in terms of their application, therefore we do not ask
them to supply this information as part of the process.

must sign a contract to say that they will spend the money on what they said
they would do, otherwise the money must be returned to NCC.

8. We have supplied breakdowns of expenditure as recorded. As you will
see, there are no cases where we have ten or more specific areas of
expenditure for a single project and in some cases the defined expenditure
just falls under one heading/type.
