Dear Mr. White,
Thank you for your Freedom of Information enquiry dated the 11th of July 2009. The information requested in respect of Child Protection statistics within East Dunbartonshire Council is as follows:-
The total number of children who are currently on the Child Protection `At Risk' Register.
There are 32 children currently on our Child Protection Register.
The number of children of compulsory school age who are currently on the Child Protection `At Risk' Register.
The total number of children on the C.P. Register of Compulsory School age is 20.
The total number of electively home educated children.
East Dunbartonshire Council has 10 pupils educated at home.
The number of electively home educated children who are currently on the Child Protection `At Risk' Register
There are no children on the register who are home educated.
The number of electively home educated children who are known to have been subject to abuse, neglect, forced marriage, sexual exploitation or domestic servitude.
The timescale referred to in your request is unclear. In respect of children subject to abuse, neglect, forced, marriage, sexual exploitation or domestic servitude who are electively home educated currently subject to registration is nil.
The number of electively home educated children who are suspected to have been subject to abuse, neglect, forced marriage, sexual exploitation or domestic servitude and have been referred to services.
Again there is no clarity of timescales. Within the past year there have been no referrals in respect of abuse of any child who has been electively home educated.
The number (if any) of Significant Case Reviews which have involved electively home educated children.
There have been no significant case reviews for children who have been electively home educated.
