Dear Mrs Johnson

Request for information

I am writing further to the request for information you made last July, and which you have since appealed to the Information Commissioner about. While we still consider your request to be vexatious, we have decided to provide the information you requested, as it is now taking up a greater amount of our staff's time in dealing with the matter with the ICO than the amount of time we were hoping to avoid taking up in supplying the information to you.

In your email of 25 July, you asked for the proportion of investigators and assistant ombudsman - excluding those who have previously worked in local government - who have worked in central government or for an executive agency. As some time has elapsed since your original request, I am giving you the proportion of staff who have previously worked in local government again, as this has changed in the intervening period.

Staff

Previously worked in local government

Of the remainder, previously worked in Central Government or executive agency

Assistant Ombudsmen

73%

67% (18% of total)

Investigators

57%

52% (23% of total)

That concludes my response. If you feel I have not dealt properly with your request, you have the right to appeal and, should you wish to do so, I can supply a copy our internal complaints procedure. You also have the right to apply to the Information Commissioner to determine whether your request has been properly dealt with. You should note however that the Commissioner will not consider any complaint where you have not first exhausted our internal complaints process or where there has been undue delay in contacting him. You will be able to obtain further details of the Information Commissioner's role from the website on www.ico.gov.uk.

Yours sincerely
