Ms Laura McCoy

[FOI #14229 email]

Dear Ms McCoy

Application for information under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act (2000)

I write in response to a Freedom of Information Act request received by the trust on 7 July 2009. The Act requires us to respond to this within 20-working days from receipt - that is by 4 August.

Your request:

Please could you let me know the contact details for your Estates Director and whether there is an approved list of consultants for Building Control Services that the Estates Department uses. If so, how does one apply to be on that list?

Our response is as follows:

Mr Chris Tann, Head of Estates & Capital Projects.

As an NHS foundation trust, the trust does not have a finite list of approved contractors or consultants. Where possible we try to invest in our community by using local suppliers and contracts (within a 50mile radius), but we consider all companies for tendering exercises in line with national procurement requirements. Companies wishing to put themselves forward for consideration should put their introductions in writing to Mr Tann at the trust's address.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response to your original letter and should be addressed to: The Corporate Secretary, Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Calow, Chesterfield S44 5BL.

Yours sincerely

Sarah Turner-Saint
