Thank you for your request for information which we received on 7 July 2009. In that request, you asked for the following information:

1. Total number of FOI requests received by the authority, dating
from 1st Jan 2005 to present day, and broken down annually.

2. Out of these, the number that received a response within the
20-working day limit.

3. The longest time taken to respond to a request.

4. Out of the total, the number of requests that were refused.

5. Out of those requests that were refused, please provide, in
accordance with section 17 of the Act, the specific exemption in
question.

6. The number of requests subject to an internal review.

7. The results of any internal requests. i.e did the authority
uphold the original decision?

8. The number of cases referred to the Information Commissioner

9. If any such cases exist, details of the cases. i.e. date,
subject of the request, reason for exemption, what the result was.

10. The criteria used when considering the public interest test.

I am pleased to provide the following information:

1.       We have received 1476 FOI requests since January 2005. Breakdown as follows:

2004 - 2005 64
2005 - 2006 115
2006 - 2007 200
2007 - 2008 517
2008 - Present day 580


The number of requests that were subjected to an internal review are:

2009 3

In relation to questions 2,3,4,5,7,8,9 and 10, unfortunately, as the Council does not have in place an automated FOI management system, I am unable to provide the answers to these questions. As the council does not hold this information.
