REQUEST DETAILS:
1) Please can you tel me when the speed limit on the A143 changed from
60 MPH to 30 MPH and what legislation was used to introduce this
limit.
2) Please can you also tel me whether the correct legislation was used
initial y to introduce the 30 MPH limit and whether alternative legislation
was used to correct any mistakes?
3) Please can you tel me how many fixed penalty notices have been
issued for speeding on the A143 in Wattisfield since the speed limit
changed from 60 MPH to 30 MPH.
4) Please can you also tel me how many of these fixed penalty notices
have been withdrawn once the legality of the 30 MPH limit was
chal enged.

Point Three
Since 2003, Suffolk Constabulary has issued nine fixed penalty notices for
speeding on the A143 in Wattisfield, within the 30mph limit.
Point Four
Suffolk Constabulary does not hold the reasons why an offence is chal enged,
therefore cannot identify how many were withdrawn due to a particular legality
chal enge.
The Suffolk Constabulary in complying with their statutory duty under sections 1 and 11 of the Freedom
of Information Act 2000 to release the enclosed information wil not breach the Copyright, Designs and
