Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000: Request for information

Thank you for your request for information dated 07 July 2009 relating to FOI/4045. You have requested the following information:

1.) On the Westminster Website it states the costs of survey work and the extension of on street parking places was £224,438. What proportion of money was spent on the surveying, and what proportion was spent on the manufacturing of bays?

Following on from that, what proportion of the money spent on bays was spent on the signs and other notices required to alert rider to the charge?

On the same site, you state that £13,600 was spent on communications. What does the communications budget cover, and what activities were involved the spending of the £13,600?

2.) How many individual places were created as a result of the £224,438 expenditure?

3.) £6,714 is stated to have been spent on off street bays. How many individual spaces were created as a direct result of this expenditure?

In response to your request, I can advise you of the following:

1.) Please refer to the attached document, which contains details of how the moneys have been spent in relation to motorcycle parking.

2.) 6,150 spaces were created on street as a result of the expenditure.

3.) A further 653 bays were created in the off street car parks as a result of the expenditure, making a total of 1,053 spaces available for motorcycle use.
