Dear Ms Speers,
Re: Freedom of Information Request
I write in relation to your email of 4 July 2009, which the Commission received on the same day. You requested information relating to the management of Serious Untoward Incidents (SUIs) at Oxfordshire and Bucks Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. In particular, you requested an update on the progress that the Commission is making in relation to its preliminary enquiries into the matter.
At the time of writing, the Commission has yet to complete its preliminary enquiries. The Commission is currently reviewing the information that the Trust has supplied, and once this stage is complete, will hold an internal case conference to discuss next steps.
This could include the following:
Closing the case if the Commission is satisfied that any remaining concerns are already appropriately being dealt with by the Trust.
Visiting the Trust to clarify issues.
Making recommendations to the Trust as to the measures it must implement to resolve the concerns that have been raised. These recommendations will be followed up after 6-9 months.
I trust the above answers your question.
You are entitled to complain about the handling of your information request. In the first instance, you should direct your complaint to:
