Dear Ms Brody

Thank you for submitting a Freedom of Information request to London Borough of Lambeth, received on 3rd July 2009. You requested information about primary school places in Herne Hill.

  1. The number of Primary School Applications that were made from residents of Herne Hill ward in Lambeth for the 2008/2009 intake?

Due to the complexity of ward boundaries, together with that fact that a number of

postcodes are shared by different wards, Lambeth's School Admissions Team does not

collate applications data by ward. However, the number of applications received by

families who lived in the SE24 area (the predominant postcode for the ward in question)

was 124. This number includes both on-time and late applications.

2. How many of these applications were allocated to their first preference school?

107 (86%) were offered their first preference school.

3. How many of these applications were allocated to any of their preference schools?

13 (11%) were offered their 2nd preference and 4 (3%) were offered their 3rd preference school.

4. Is it possible to break this information down to postcode level e.g. those living in postcodes beginning with SE24?

Unfortunately, due to reasons mentions in the first question, we are unable to further

answer this question.

I trust that this information addresses your enquiry, however if you are dissatisfied with the way in which your Freedom of Information request has been dealt with you can request an internal review by emailing: [email address] (please quote the reference number above) or by writing to:
