I am writing to confirm that the Council has now completed its search for the information you 
requested on 1st July, 2009.  
 
Below are your questions and our answers to them: 
 
1. Number of electively home educated children known to your LA. 150 
2. Number of electively home educated children who have a care plan in place due to concerns of 
abuse. 0 
3. Total number of all children in your LA.  94,755  (This is a figure provided to us by Education 
Leeds for children of school age i.e. 4-16 year olds.) 
4. Total number of children who have a care plan in place due to concerns of abuse.  252 (This is the 
figure for 4-16 year olds who are currently on the Child Protection Register, as at 20th July 09.  This 
is to match the number of known children provided by Education Leeds).
