I confirm that your request for information concerning children in care who are electively home educated and who have been involved in child abuse has been considered.

Response
There are 42 electively home educated children in our LA boundaries
There are no home educated children who have a care plan in place due to concerns of abuse.
There are 58,100 children and young people in Sunderland (based on last mid-year estimate)
As at 3rd July 2009 there are 210 children have a care plan in place due to concerns of abuse
