FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST  
 
I write in response to your Freedom of Information request of 1st July 2009. You asked for the following 
information:- 
 
1. Number of electively home educated children known to your LA. 
 
54 children known to be electively home educated 
 
2. Number of electively home educated children who have a care plan in place due to concerns of abuse.
 
 
We have no record of any children who are electively home educated having a care plan. 
 
3. Total number of all children in your LA  
 
The total number of children in Sefton schools as at June 2009 was 42,108 pupils. Population forecasts of 
the total number of children within Sefton can be found on the Neighbourhood Statistics website, at the 
following address:-

4. Total number of children who have a care plan in place due to concerns of abuse.
