Freedom of Information Request 65412

I refer to your request for information which fell under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) in which you requested the following:

  1. How many social workers are there working in adult care?

  1. How many of these are working with disabled people under 60?

  1. How many adults are you providing some sort of community care service to in total?

  1. How many allocated cases are there in adult care?

  1. How many unallocated cases are there in adult care?

  1. How many `held' cases are there in adult care?

Liverpool City Council does not use the term `held'. The terms allocated and unallocated are used, the details of which can be found in response to the previous two questions.

  1. What is the ratio of adult care cases to each social worker

65 per social worker. Please note, many of these cases are on a `monitor and review' basis only

  1. What is the average time between referral for a service and assessment of needs?

2 days (Referral to assessment start), for completion of assessment 13 days.

  1. What is the average time between referral and provision of the necessary service?

21 days

  1. What is your total adult care budget for 2009-2010?

£235.1million gross - £131.3million net

  1. What proportion of this is spent providing care in the community through Direct Payments or Individual Budgets?

Budget for 09/10 £7million

  1. What proportion of this is spent on residential care provision?

£30.3million (09/10)

  1. What is the average length of time for provision of aids?

97.9% of equipment provided within 7 working days

  1. What is the average length of time for the provision of adaptations?

Minor adaptations 1 week. Major adaptations 26 weeks.
