This figure is for active staff on the Social Worker grade and does not include members of teams such as the Emergency Duty Team, Approved Social Workers (Mental Health) or social work officers or assistants.

There are 428 Keyworkers for 4485 Open cases where the adult had a user group of: disability, dual sensory loss, hearing impairment, learning disability, mental illness, physical impairment, physical/ terminal illness, sensory impairment or visual impairment and they are currently under 60

This is based on the Sum of the referrals assessment provides services return table P2S pages 1-6.

This is the total of all open cases across the whole authority. Of these 6,973 are currently actively managed, the remainder receive services and at least one review a year.

The Median average time taken to complete an assessment included in the RAP return was 15 days. The Mean average for the same figure was 21.89 days. Government targets allow 28 days for the completion of an assessment.

What is the average time between referral and provision of the necessary service?

26 Days

The median average time taken to provide a service from the referral date was 26 days. The mean average for the same figure was 41.48 days. The government target on the time to provide services measures from the end of the assessment to the provision of services and allows 28 days, in addition to 28 days for the completion of an assessment. Our median average time on this indicator was 4 days and our mean average time was 16.85 days.

The 2009/10 net budget for direct payments and individual budgets is 3.3% of the net budget for Adult Social Care. Leeds Adult Social Care's target is that 15% of service users receive services through either an individual budget or direct payments by March 2010.

We now refer to community equipment. Last year over 95% of equipment was delivered and installed within 7 days for the assessor deciding which item the customer needed.

201 days

This measures first contact to completion of the change. It took a median average of 132 days to provide a major adaption, a mean figure of 252.7 days. This includes services which the authority do not provide directly and can involve large building works and large projects.
