Dear Ms Shaw,
Re: Information Request - Freedom of Information Act 2000
I can confirm that the NHS Information Centre for Health and Social Care has considered your query dated the 24th June 2009.
“Please can you supply me with information on the number of patients registered with every GP practice in England, broken down by sex and 5 year age bands, on the first of each month in 2008 and 2009 (to date). If monthly data are not available then data at whatever time points are available should be supplied.
Both the practice name and practice code (in the format Annnnn) should be supplied, and the results should be in microsoft excel, access or CSV format.”
Thank you for your request for information, I have liaised with my colleagues in the GP data team and they have provided me with the attached table. The data is at 30 September 2008 and is taken from the GP Census - we do not hold monthly extracts.
If you are not satisfied with the way in which your response was handled, you may request a review from the Director of Information Governance, Clare Sanderson, via the [NHS Information Centre request email] e mail address or by post at the above postal address.
Further information about your right to complain under the Freedom of Information Act is available from the Information Commissioner's Office, Wilmslow, Cheshire, and on The Information Commissioner's website www.ico.gov.uk.
I will assume that your request to the organisation is now closed.
Yours sincerely,
Jessica Robson
Higher Information Governance Officer
