Dear Mr Todd
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: LIVERPOOL MULTI-AREA AGREEMENT DRAFT
CONSULTATIONS
Thank you for your request for a copy of emails between Defra’s civil servants and officers
at Liverpool City Council relating to the second phase of Liverpool’s Multi–Area Agreement
(MAA), which we received on 18 June. We have handled your request under the
Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIRs).
Defra did not correspond directly with officers at Liverpool City Council, but we sent our
comments on the second phase of Liverpool’s MAA to Communities and Local
Government (CLG) to forward to the Council. I attach a copy of the email to CLG
containing our comments. I also attach details of comments made verbally to Liverpool
City Council on 18 May.
Defra has not received a copy of the correspondence from CLG to Liverpool City Council
in which they forwarded our comments. Therefore, if you have not already done so, you
may wish to contact CLG to request a copy. You can contact CLG at
[email address] or Communities and Local Government, Eland
House, Bressenden Place, London SW1E 5DU. Alternatively, we can transfer your
request to CLG, but before doing so we request your permission to notify them of your
name and contact details. If you agree to this, please could I ask you to either sign and
return the declaration at the foot of this letter to me or email me giving your permission for
us to contact the CLG on your behalf.

Patents Act 1988. You are free to use it for your own purposes, including any non-
commercial research you are doing and for the purposes of news reporting. Any other re-

to the public unless exempt. The information you requested may now be published on our
website together with any related information that will provide a key to its wider context.
