Dear I Peroll

Re: Freedom of Information (FOI) Request  - Internal Review

I received three e-mails from you on 24th July 2009 in which you were unhappy with the decisions in
relation to your FOI request:

You requested for the handling of your FOI request to be considered at an internal review, in
particular the following sections of your initial request:

•  Suicide rates-losing children to ‘forced adoption’
•  Forced Adoption Complaints
•  Amanda Barden – Cafcass Canterbury Kent

My apology for the delay in responding I have been out of the office and was unable to send you
a response. The Internal review took place on 1st September

Valerie Howarth Chair of the Cafcass Board, has now carried out the internal review  and the
conclusions of the review are set out below:

Internal Review â€“ I Peroll Freedom of Information Request

Your request for a review was undertaken on 1st September 2009.  The reviewing officer confirmed
that although the information sought might be in the public interest it is not the responsibility of
Cafcass to collect it. The number of adoption orders made against the wishes of parents, for a number
of reasons may be obtained via a request for information made to the Ministry of Justice
http://www.justice.gov.uk/
the Office for National Statistics http://www.statistics.gov.uk/default.asp or
the General  Register office www.gro.gov.uk.

We have already supplied the information requested concerning Amanda Barden.
