Guidance Notes

This form is to be completed for vacancies that are being requested to be filled.

The intention of this form is to allow effective monitoring and control of the budget process in relation to staffing costs.

The VCF should accompany a completed M6 (Request to Advertise a Post) - (available on the Intranet).

All parts on the VCF must be completed. Partially completed forms will be returned to managers.

Process

  1. Manager completes VCF & M6 and forwards this electronically to their Head of Branch.

  1. Head of Branch completes the relevant section and forwards both the VCF and M6 to Departmental HR in electronic format ([email address]).

  1. If appropriate Departmental HR will liaise with the Director or nominated officer for approval to release the post.

  1. Departmental HR will liaise with Managers and advise them of the outcome.

  1. Departmental HR will attach the Job Description (M3) & Person Specification (M23) and forward to Employee Admin Team in Corporate HR.

(If the M3/M23 is not available then Managers will be asked to provide, in electronic format, the relevant Forms).

  1. Liaison in respect of the placing of the advert, applications and interviews is then carried out between the Manager and Recruitment Admin Team.
