M24a Shortlisting Scoring Form |
The aim of this form is to enable you to select the most appropriate candidates for interview, ie those who best match the Employee Specification (M23) from information contained on the application form.
The form is in two stages:
Stage 1
Assess each application to determine which applicants meet all the essential criteria (which must not be scored). For applicants who satisfy the essential requirements indicate with a . These applicants will proceed to Stage 2.
Stage 2
Enter the scoring scheme for the desirable criteria which can be identified from the application form.
Use the scoring scheme: 0 - fails to meet; 1 - meets partially; 2 - meets fully.
Use this scheme to rate applicants on:

Special Requirements
Calculate the total score for each applicant and select the candidates for interview on the basis of those achieving the highest score.
Points to remember:
If a candidate fails to demonstrate that they possess any essential criteria identified on the Employee Specification then they must be eliminated from any further consideration. Do not evaluate candidates on criteria which have not been stated on the Employee Specification. Avoid attempting to score any factors which cannot be realistically assessed from the information available. The same scoring scheme will be used to assess candidates at interview. Retain the M24a Shortlisting Scoring form for all candidates for at least six months after the recruitment process for the vacancy has been completed ie appointed to.
Please also be reminded that it is the Council's Policy that all applicants who declare a disability and who meet the essential criteria for the job MUST be selected for interview.
