Dear Ms Shrive,
I am writing in response to your request for a review of your Freedom of Information request to DWP dated 16 June 2009.
I have gone through the whole of the text of your request to identify what questions were being asked, and I have identified them as:
Why are these forums so arrogant and such a complete waste of time.
Why are we treated like the enemy when we are paying for this?
Why are you using out of date research methods?
Why are admin on remits deciding who deals with what ?
Does this happen with everyone in charge suspect so.
From the email trail you included these questions were in a response to a request you made to the Disability Benefits Consortium and was made to us via the Whatdotheyknow.com website.
My colleague's assessment was that the questions you were asking were about the response you received from the Disability Benefits Consortium. That being the case, the response you received from us was correct. The Disability Benefits Consortium is made up of a group of charities/welfare rights organisations who are independent of the department and are not funded by us. As such we hold no information relating to their internal processes or what actions they choose to make.
The only other forum related to your request was `whatdotheyknow.com' who are again an independent organisation from the Department and we therefore hold no information upon which we could answer your request.
If, however, you were referring to a Departmental forum, we would need you to supply details of that forum to identify the information you require from us. But without such extra information, the only 2 forums noted on your request are those which the department holds no information on.
I therefore find that your request was answered correctly and must confirm that we hold no information to answer your request.
If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me.
If you are not content with the outcome of this internal review you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner to look into the way your request has been handled. The Commissioner can be contacted at:
