CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND POLICE ACT 2001

Alcohol Consumption in Designated Public Places Order 2003

The Watford Borough Council (in this Order called “the council”) hereby make the following Order under Section 13(2) of the said Act:

  1. The land described in the Schedule below being land in the area of the Council which is land to which the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 applies, is hereby designated for the purposes of that Act.

  1. The Order makes it an offence to continue drinking alcohol when requested by a police officer or community support officer not to; or to fail to hand over any container that an officer reasonably believes to contain alcohol. Failure to comply with a request can lead to arrest and a maximum fine of £500.

  1. This Order may be cited as the Alcohol Consumption in Designated Public Places Order 2003 and shall come into force on 30 September 2003.
