     The Unaccompanied care leavers and asylum seekers report [Author ID0: at ]

     mentions that 16 and 17 year old newly arrived Unaccompanied Asylum[Author ID0: at ]

     Seeking Children (UASC) are most often than not accommodated under[Author ID0: at ]

     Section 20 of the Children Act (1989), hereafter referred to as[Author ID0: at ]

     "Section 20". This duty can be discharged, after a needs[Author ID0: at ]

     assessment, then they can be supported under the Children (Leaving[Author ID0: at ]

     Care) Act (2000) and or Section 17 of the Children Act (1989),[Author ID0: at ]

     hereafter referred to as "Section 17". The report indicates this[Author ID0: at ]

     practice is similar to the one used for 16 and 17 year old[Author ID0: at ]

     indigenous young people in like circumstances.[Author ID0: at ]

     To help understand how this practice operates can you please advise[Author ID0: at ]

     me, in the final quarter of 2008 (October, November and December[Author ID0: at ]

     2008) how many newly arrived 16 and 17 year old UASC you[Author ID0: at ]

     accommodated under Section 20 for the first time and for each[Author ID0: at ]

     individual UASC please advise of.[Author ID1: at Mon Jul 6 12:10:00 2009 ]

     accommodated - Using the formula that indicates how many full years[Author ID0: at ]

     and months has elapsed since birth. Such as 16.4, meaning 16 years[Author ID0: at ]
