I am requesting information about whether planning permission was sought to fly the Gay Pride flag from flagpoles over a number of Merseyside Police stations (reported in national papers on 28/05/2009)?

1) Of course the information requested should include dates for when planning permission was granted to fly the said flag, and when the flags were flown.

No planning permission was sought. The flags were flown for one week from Thursday 14^th May 2009 until Wednesday 20^th May 2009

2) If the necessary planning permission was not granted prior to the Gay Pride flag being flown, please inform me (under the freedom of information legislation) of any action taken against Merseyside Police,

No action has been taken against Merseyside Police.

3) and any staff members concerned with displaying this non-national flag. Such action would include prosecution of course.
