CWCT for weathertightness when applied to framed buildings.

a lower level or switched on for shorter periods.
Light and Space underwent rigorous testing by the BRE. Amongst it’s
conclusions BRE stated “Using higher more reflective surfaces could result in
lighting energy savings for two reasons. Firstly, it is possible that less electic
lighting could be installed, secondly, the increased levels of daylight could
mean that eelectric lighting would be required for less time.

Ceres Power
Technology Developer
Working with British Gas and Calor, Ceres Power is developing a fuel cell
boiler for the domestic home. This wall mounted boiler easily replaces an

existing gas boiler providing the heating and hot water requirements of a

home together with the majority of the home’s electricity requirements. The

unit consists of a fuel cell module plus a conventional condensing boiler.
The fuel cell module generates electricity at a lower cost and lower carbon
compared with electricity imported from the grid; saving the user money off
their utility bill and carbon. The co generated heat is captured and used in
the home for hot water or heating. A gas condensing boiler is contained in
the boiler to provide the additional heating demands in the winter.
British Gas is the UK’s largest installer of heating solutions and have a
country wide operation and support network. The Ceres Power fuel cell
boiler will be installed through the BG network. Calor are a major energy
provider to the 2 million homes not on the gas network. Commercial field
trials of the fuel cell boiler will start in 2010/11. This is an ideal retrofit
solution that does not require major changes to the home or the legacy
heating system. Ceres is actively looking for partners to field trial the
technology with in conjunction with BG and Calor.

Ground source heat
EarthEnergy have installed over 1,000 ground source heat pumps into social

or under floor heating. A ground source heat pump will meet all the space

use a borehole to collect heat from the ground to provide affordable low
