RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION AND/OR ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION

I am writing with regard to the information you requested under the Freedom of Information Act regarding CCTV cameras, received in this department on the 02/06/2009.

Information Requested

You have requested detailed maps showing certain information, however due to copyright restrictions we are unable to supply images of the maps held on our system. Therefore I have supplied detailed location descriptions of the CCTV cameras (including their function) and signs, and where available the coordinates for these, in the attached documents. This information responds to points 1-3.

To answer point 4, I would advise that CCTV cameras will record footage of whatever is in their field of view.

In response to point 5, please see the attachment regarding Promise Ten of the `Building Pride Borough Wide' document. Promise Ten was to introduce CCTV to more parts of the borough, and the attached document gives further information regarding this. In addition, mobile cameras are due to introduced throughout the borough, but the exact number has yet to be determined and due to their portable nature it is not possible to specify their location.

Finally, the attached document entitled `CCTV camera sites' gives the location for CCTV cameras that have installed but that are not yet in use. These are highlighted in green

The information requested has been supplied as required, apart from the maps held by the Council which cannot be supplied due to copyright reasons.
