Dear Capt Frantic

Freedom of information request – reference number RFI20090793

Thank you for your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the Act”) dated 27 May 2009 in
which you requested information on:

•  “any and all plans the BBC may have to lobby parliament, (or any other plans), to introduce compulsory
licensing of UK broadband connections to be paid to BBC, Capita, TV Licensing, HM Government or to any
other of your associates or any plans you may have to include broadband consumers in your remit for
collection of TV licence fees”; and

•  “any plans you have to introduce a payment scheme for the pleasure of watching the BBC iPlayer over the
internet”.

In response, I can confirm that at present the BBC has no plans to either lobby to introduce compulsory
licensing of UK broadband connections or to include broadband consumers in our remit for the collection
of the TV licence fee, or to introduce a payment scheme to watch the BBC iPlayer over the internet.
