Dear Mr Peacock

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NUMBER 0621/08

I refer to your request for information dated 18 July 2008, which was received by Strathclyde
Police on same date. Your request has now been considered and on 7 August 2008, a decision
was made to grant your request in full.  As such, the information you have requested is
detailed below.

Please could you advise of the number of, if any, serving police officers in Strathclyde who
have criminal convictions?

It would be simply super if this could be supplied for each division, but if not, then a total
would suffice.

Division/Department Total
‘A’ Glasgow Central & West Division
10
‘B’ Glasgow North East & East Dunbartonshire Division
21
‘G’ Glasgow South & East Renfrewshire Division
23
‘K’ Renfrewshire & Inverclyde Division

‘L’ Argyll, Bute & West Dunbartonshire Division

‘N’ North Lanarkshire Division
16
‘Q’ South Lanarkshire Division
10
‘U’ Ayrshire Division
14
Crime Division

Detached 3
Force Headquarters

Operational Support Division

TOTAL 134

The above TOTAL represents just 1.8% of the almost 7500 police officers in Strathclyde
Police at present.

I hope this information is helpful, however, if you are not satisfied with the way in which
your request has been dealt with, you are entitled in the first instance to request a review of
the decision made by the Force.  Should you wish to request such a review, please write to

Mrs Sheena Brennan, Disclosure Manager at the above address within 40 working days of
receiving this letter.

entitled to apply to the Scottish Information Commissioner for a decision.  Contact details are;

Should you require any further assistance concerning this matter please contact me directly on
